Marilyn Newbill passed away at home July 10, 2012 after 12 years of battling cancer. She was born in Lewistown, Montana to Ted and Violet Hopper on April 14, 1935. They moved to Idaho in 1936. She started high school at Notus and finished at Caldwell High School. She met Don Newbill at College of Idaho and they married August 11, 1956. She received her BA in Education the following year. They resided in Boise for 5 years while Don flew for the Idaho Air National Guard. In 1962 they bought a farm north of Nampa, where they raised their four children. In her earlier years Marilyn was an avid water skier and enjoyed camping and fishing though out her life. She loved working in her yard, vegetable garden and her rose garden. Marilyn and Don hosted an annual 4th of July celebration at their home for friends and family for over 40 years that often swelled to over 100 participants. She is survived by her husband, Don, four children, Wayne (Jeanne) of Meridian, Alan (Eve) of Caldwell, Brian of Boise, and Kara (Mike) Terrell of Spokane, Washington, as well as 14 grand children, 3 great-grand children, five brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with Marilyn's wishes there will be no service. The family would like to issue a special thank you to Penny and Taylor and all of the other outstanding staff at Four Rivers Hospice.
