Mario Frank Nicolosi passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at home after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 23, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Angelo and Rose Zito Nicolosi. Mario graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (Brooklyn) in 1954. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years.
In 1958 he met Rose Marinello in Miami, Fl. and on July 3, 1960 they were married in Queens, N.Y. After living in N.Y. for a short time they returned to So. Florida where they were blessed with 2 loving sons, Jeffery Michael and Paul Francis.
Mario worked in construction a great part of his life as a brick mason and as a general contractor building many beautiful homes in South Florida.
In 1979 he and his longtime friend Frank Mausling, decided to move their families to Idaho to enjoy the great outdoors as they both loved to hunt and fish. Many memorable holidays and camping trips were enjoyed with the two families.
He worked various jobs in Idaho and in 1987 he started his own carpet cleaning and janitorial business. In 1996, Mario found his passion for woodworking and started a woodcraft business in his workshop at home, making many lovely wood products and selling them at craft shows. Mario enjoyed helping his sons with their own wood projects and whatever they were working on. He loved to hunt with his sons and with his longtime friend from So. Florida, Dwight and his son JR. Fishing was his second love where he enjoyed competition fishing with his son Jeff and many friends. Mario also had fun going out in his boat with his family.
Mario is survived by his wife Rose of 51yrs, sons, Jeff (Caryn) of Melba, Paul (Helen) of Nampa, grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ashlee, Casey, Maddie, Tanner and Cody, sister Dolores Nicolosi of Florida, father-in-law John Marinello of Florida, brother-in-law John Marinello, Jr. and wife Debbie of Florida, brother-in-law Ralph Marinello and wife Jan of Florida, uncle Mario Nicolosi of New York, aunt Frances Parisi of Florida many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, all of So. Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and mother-in-law Theresa Marinello.
Mario loved his family and friends very much. He is gone, but never will be forgotten.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a vigil remembrance service being held at 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at the St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Private burial will be held at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell
