Marion 'Ski' Marcinkowski Obituary Marion (Ski) Marcinkowski Marion I Marcinkowski (91) of Nampa, Idaho, passed into eternal peace at home surrounded by devoted family on August 29, 2024. He was born May 14, 1933, to Xavier and Petronela Marcinkowski in Detroit, Michigan; he was one of eight children. Marion was known to his friends and family as "Ski". Ski had the distinction of serving in the US Army. He served his country honorably in various locations around the world, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to the nation's defense throughout his military career. He retired from the Army Signal Corp after 28 years of dedicated service. Upon moving to Idaho, he spent an additional 10 years with the State working with the Idaho National Guard at Gowen Field. Ski is survived by the love of his life, Bettie, of Nampa, Idaho; four daughters, Patricia Marcinkowski, Maria Rodriguez, Pamela Bartels (John), Katrina Barreneche (John); as well as 3 grandchildren (Sarah, Daniel, and Victor), 1 great-granddaughter (Izabella) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. The family thanks everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and devotion of his many friends during the past few months. Ski never met a stranger. He always put others before himself and he will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite Veterans Organization in Skis name. A viewing and visitation will be held at Non Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, September 12, 2024 at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
