Marjorie L. Michaelson (1922-2013) Marjorie L. Michaelson, 91, was born on May 24, 1922 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to James Albert (Al) and Florence Coe. She passed away on December 19, 2013 at a care facility in Meridian, Idaho.
Marge was the fourth of five children. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1940. She married Franklin Michaelson on February 24, 1946. Frank had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Frank and Marge had four sons; John in 1948; twins Tom and Terry in 1950; and Scott in 1956. All four boys were born in Klamath Falls.
In 1956, the family moved to Lakeview, Oregon. In 1957, they moved to Dinuba, CA, where Frank took a job with Security First National Bank. The family lived for a short time in Dinuba before moving to Coalinga, CA, where Frank was assistant manager from 1958-63.
In 1963, the family returned to Dinuba where Frank was branch manager for Security Pacific Bank. Marge was a homemaker and, when the boys were older, she worked for Alta Hospital. Upon Franks retirement from banking, he and Marge moved to Nampa, ID in order to be closer to family. Frank passed away in 2007. Marge remained living in Nampa until shortly prior to her death.
Marge was a strong woman of faith, attending Baptist churches until moving to Idaho, where she attended Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. She became active in the Century Club. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking and socializing with friends, neighbors and family. Marge especially loved music, particularly if performed by her kids or grandkids. She enjoyed table games and had a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Marge is survived by her sons, John (Kathy), Tom (Becky) and Terry (Liz), all of Nampa and Scott (Janet) of Caldwell, ID; a sister, Dot Canfield of Talent, OR; ten grandchildren: Coe (Stephanie) and Kip Michaelson; Heather (Kevin) Ross, Scott (Jaime) Michaelson and Julie (Levi) Talbott; Kerry Ellen, Mark (Melissa) and Steven Michaelson; and Mikayla and Zac Michaelson; seven great grandchildren: Luke and Isaac Michaelson; Amy and Connor Ross, Liana Noelle Michaelson and Isaac Talbott; and Cade and Reese Emily Michaelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers: Kenneth Coe, Wayne Coe and Dean Coe.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 4, 2014 at Nampa Funeral Home in Nampa. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marges memory may be made to the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene or to a favorite charity.
