It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Lopez, age 61, who passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by the love of his family. Martin was born on October 26, 1964, in Burley, Idaho, and lived a life defined by faith, hard work, generosity, humor, and an unwavering love for his family.

Martin is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Elizabeth Molina-Flores Lopez, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together they built a beautiful family and countless memories traveling, supporting one another, and enjoying life side by side.

He was a proud and loving father to Martin Valentine (Cristina) Lopez, Santiago (Noe) Lopez, Annamaria (Alonzo) Patterson, and Marianna (Daryl) Robertson. His greatest joy was being “Papa” to his eight cherished grandchildren and his three beloved grand dogs, who always held a special place in his heart.

Martin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marianna Quezada Lopez, and his sister, Nora Lopez, whom he now joins in eternal peace.

He is survived by his father, Jesus Espinoza Lopez; his siblings, Maria (Marcelino) Cruz, Blanca (Celestino) Robles, Eduardo (Irma) Lopez, Jesus Lopez Jr., Alfonzo Lopez, and Noé (Patty) Lopez; along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help.

Martin was the definition of a self-made entrepreneur and a true jack of all trades. There was no challenge too big, no project too complicated, and no job he wasn’t willing to tackle. Whether he was fixing a vehicle, wiring a building, plumbing a home, maintaining properties, driving trucks, or building a business from the ground up, Martin believed that with determination—and sometimes a little help from his brother Jessie—anything was possible.

Throughout his life, he wore many hats. He founded V-JAM Jumpers, named after the people, he loved most—Vale, Jimmy, Anna, and Mary. He worked in daycare maintenance and groundskeeping, owned a taco truck, operated lawn and turf services, worked as a mechanic, truck driver, plumber, electrician, and became known as the person everyone called when something needed to be fixed. If he didn’t already know how to do something, he taught himself until he mastered it.

Martin also had a deep love for his Mexican heritage and music. He helped establish a youth mariachi program and played an instrumental role in creating the family’s mariachi, sharing traditions that continue to unite generations of the Lopez family.

As a young man, Martin was a Notus High School Football All-Star, and his love for sports remained throughout his life. He was an unwavering Dallas Cowboys fan who especially enjoyed watching games from the suites at AT&T Stadium, proudly cheered on the Boise State Broncos, and never missed an opportunity to support the teams he loved.

Above all else, Martin loved his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren, taking on a new project with those he loved, spoiling his wife, traveling together, or gathering everyone around. He was the heartbeat of every family celebration—the one who kept everyone laughing, made every gathering memorable, and somehow always found the energy to do just one more thing.

Martin had a personality that could light up any room. He loved making people laugh, joking with friends and family, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed gambling, cheering on his favorite teams, and always finding the next adventure. His generosity knew no bounds. If someone needed help, he was already on his way before they could finish asking. Whether it was lending his time, sharing his knowledge, or simply offering encouragement, Martin gave from the heart without expecting anything in return.

To know Martin was to know someone who truly believed that anything was possible. His favorite saying perfectly reflected the way he lived his life:

“Let’s make it happen.”

Those words became much more than a catchphrase. They were the foundation of how he approached life—with optimism, determination, and the belief that together, there was no obstacle that couldn’t be overcome.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we are forever grateful for the countless memories he gave us, the lessons he taught us, and the unconditional love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on through his family, his friends, the businesses he built, the traditions he started, and every life he touched along the way.

Martin’s greatest accomplishment was never the work he did or the businesses he built—it was the family he loved so fiercely and the example he set through his compassion, perseverance, humor, and generosity.

As we celebrate Martin’s remarkable life, we invite everyone who knew and loved him to honor his memory by living with the same kindness, determination, generosity, and willingness to help others that defined his own life.
