Marvin Weaver Obituary Marvin D. Weaver, 80, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on January 15, 2025.
Marvin was born on April 22, 1944, to Virgil "Tote" and Marie Shroll-Weaver, Marv lived a life full of hard work, and a passion for family and racing. Marv grew up in a family with one sister, Virgilene (Glen) Riley, and three brothers, Forest (Eva), Vernon (Evelyn), and Gene (Barbara) Weaver. On February 6, 1964, he married Donna Curtis, the love of his life and his steadfast supporter for 61 years. Together, they raised three children, Ron (Karin), Sandy (Lyndon), and Melissa, and were blessed with seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A hardworking and dedicated man, Marv initially farmed south of Nampa before discovering his interest in the tire industry. In 1975, he founded Marvs Tire Service, a successful business he operated for over three decades before passing it on to his son in 2006 retiring at the age of 62, leaving a legacy of integrity and service. Marvs greatest passion, however, was racing. He began his journey at the racetrack in 1962, winning his first championship in 1964. Over the years, he achieved seven more championships, earning countless trophies and accolades, including a trip to Hawaii, an ounce of gold, and a diamond ring at the Hermiston Raceway. In 2013, his contributions to the sport were honored with his induction into the WIRA Hall of Fame at Meridian Speedway. Sharing his love of racing with two of his children and later two of his grandchildren brought Marv immense pride. Joining him on the track, creating lasting memories and continuing the family legacy. He devoted countless hours to building race cars and mentoring them, passing on his knowledge and love for the sport of racing. He also got to work alongside his younger brother, Gene, who devoted years of his time to supporting the entire Weaver racing team as their #1 pitman. When he wasnt racing, Marv enjoyed time at his cabin, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and making memories with family and friends. His warmth, dedication, and legendary spirit touched everyone who knew him, from his family to his racing community and his many loyal customers.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Forest, his sister Virgilene, his brother-in-law Glen, and his sister-in-law Barbara.
