Mary Ann Ward Hartzfeld took the journey home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 She was born July 2, 1935 in Mansfield, PA and the family moved to Idaho when her father worked for Morrison Knudsen. She attended grade schools in Hagerman, Bliss, Grandview and Cascade and Boise High School. She married Ernest Hartzfeld in December 1960 in Gooding Idaho. They made their home in the Treasure Valley area. She devoted her life to her family, and church only working part time when needed. She was always involved in her childrens lives and schooling. She was a member of PTA, helped with girl scouts, 4-H and other school activities as her children grew. She worked as the secretary of the Nampa Senior Center from 1997 to 2000. Mary Ann loved to sew and gardening and always had beautiful flowers all around her home. She became an avid square dancer and was always an outgoing and loving person to all she met. She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest, mother Eva Burchfield, father Robert Ward, sister Ruth Walston, son in law Ron Polk and grandson Jonathan Polk. She is survived by 4 daughters: Connie Shell, McCall, ID; Eva Harper, Surprise, AZ; Mary (Randy) Burke, Nampa, ID; Chris (Dave) Turner, Middleton, ID; and a son Jake Hartzfeld, Boise, ID; her sisters: Lois (Bob) Holloway, Elsie (Charles) Gregg, and Dorothy (Merlin) Waller, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Mama was a Grandma and Great Grandma to many. She will be missed by all who had the honor and privilege of her love each and every moment spent with her. We would like the thank the Angels of Grace Assisted Living, Nampa Idaho for taking amazing care of our Mother in her last 4 years of life. There will be a viewing on Thursday, September 26th at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel from 5-8pm with a grave side service on Friday September 27th at Meridian Cemetery at 3:00pm with a memorial gathering at Grace Assisted Living in Nampa from 6:30 to 8:00pm.
