Maryetta Gossert Hart went peacefully to be with Jesus on the afternoon of April 14, 2015. Grannyetta, as her family came to call her, left behind a footprint that resounds with love and compassion in our family and community. Her legacy was not in personal accomplishments but in children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life might well be summarized in the uncontrollable shaking and sobbing of her 9 year-old great-granddaughter as she watched Grannyetta leave the family home for the last time.

Maryetta was born March 23, 1936 in Aguilar, Colorado to Wilbur and Anetta Gossert. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Bill Hart, in 2007. Maryetta's loving legacy is evident in her daughter Christine and husband Simon Vander Woude and their children: son Jeremy Vander Woude and wife Holly and their four children Chance, Skylar, Lily and Faith; daughter Leslie and husband Ted Vander Schaaf and their six children Kirsten, Derek, Kelley, Kayla, Dustin and Katie; son Mark Vander Woude and wife Amiee and their two children Adriana and Jeshua, and daughter Amanda. Also blessed through Maryettas life is her son Tim Hart and his children Matthew, Emily and Daniel. Maryetta was preceded in death by her son Mark.

Maryetta is survived by her brothers Clyde, Ted and Warren; and by her sisters Georgiann, Patricia, Elaine and Amanda. Maryetta was preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence and Daniel.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Dry Creek Cemetery on Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 pm. Jim Evenhouse from Valley Life Community Church will officiate. Lunch will be provided afterwards at the home of Simon and Christine Vander Woude in Kuna.
