AOCM Retired Richard Carl Liljegren, 70, of Nampa, passed away at his home on Friday, September 23, 2016 from natural causes, with his loving family at his side. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 10 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. - 442-8171 at 1 PM on Monday, October 3, 2016. An online guestbook is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com Richard was born on October 13, 1945 in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of Carl and Violet Liljegren. He was reared and educated in Superior and graduated from Superior High School. He also attended the University of Wisconsin in Superior. In 1966 he enlisted in the US Navy and spent thirty years in service to his country and retired in 1996 as a Master Chief. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Christy Liljegren; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Rob Tudor; grandchildren, Jessica Downs, Jordan Smith, Danny Tudor, Chase Liljegren, Caden Tudor and their families; great grandchildren, Chelan, Cash and Colton; 2 sisters, Nancy Bubalo and Carolyn Reynolds and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers-in-law. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to any Veterans Charity of choice.
