Obituary

Michael John Douthit, 41, passed away April 19, 2011. Although broken hearted, we are thankful for the blessings, joy, and love he brought into all of our lives. Mike was able to touch countless people with his caring, and compassionate nature. Mike had a special gift to befriend people where ever he went. The number one focus in Mikes life was his family, especially his beautiful daughters, Mckenna and Derika. His favorite thing to do was spending time with them. As many of you know, he was very proud of his daughters and the joy they brought to him. Mike often said, "They are the loves of my life." Mike's best friend was his brother Ron. They were partners in business and best fishing buddies. Truth be told, there were days when Mike would just say, 'I know there's a lot of work to do Ron, but let's go fishing.' Mike loved sharing the joy of fishing with others, and was always happy to teach a new friend. He loved watching someone else reel in a fish as much as he liked catching one himself. Mike and many of his friends spent hours in his boat, 'Draggin Balls'. MIke was a passionate fisherman, and a member of the Intermountain Bass Anglers Club in Nampa. He was known to be somewhat forgetful at times. Often his sister Heidi would make sure that he had his phone, sunglasses and wallet to get him through the day. It will always be remembered that Mike could somehow find it possible to fit in a nap on the floor when visiting his mom, Pat, even with all of the kids running in and out of the living room jumping over him. Mike was born October 13, 1969 in Puyallup, WA. He was the son of John and Patricia (Portmann) Douthit. Mike is survived by two beautiful daughters, Mckenna and Derika Douthit of Boise, ID, his mother, Patricia Douthit of Nampa, a brother and sister in law, Ronald and Gloria Douthit, of Meridian, a sister and brother in law, Heidi and John Shumate of Nampa and his nieces and nephew Nicole, Andrew and Emily Douthit and Paisley Shumate. He was preceded in death by his father, John Douthit.
