Michael Lee Murray, 70, passed away on Nov. 5, 2012 of natural causes. He left this world fly fishing with his good friend at one of his favorite fishing holes.
Mike was born Aug 31, 1942 in San Francisco, CA to Roy and Barbara Murray. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married his high school sweetheart, Tricia Mitchell, in 1966. They moved to Idaho and raised three daughters while dairy farming in Nampa. During that time, he also worked and retired from Selkirk Metalbestos.
Mike was a very active member in many sportsman, buckskin and cowboy action shooting clubs, such as EE-DA-How Long Rifle, Idaho Muzzleloaders Assn., Fly Fishers of Idaho, Oregon Trail Rough Riders, S.A.S.S., etc He was also an avid advocate for improving opportunities and regulations for traditional weapon hunts throughout the state.
Mike is survived by his wife, Tricia Murray; his sister, Cathy Brown of CA; his three daughters, Mae DeCoria, Katie Blodgett, and Michala Murray; four grand kids; and one great grandson.
A celebration of his life with military honors by the United States Navy will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at the Idaho StateVeterans Cemetery in Boise. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
