Obituary

Mildred Margaret Redding-Thompson, 90, died in her home in Nampa, Idaho on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from carbon monoxide poisioning. She was born in Beaverton, Oregon to William and Margaret Kooistra. She married Elcho Zaire Redding on August 22, 1947 in Yakima, Washington. She and Elcho dedicated their lives to working as missionaries in India, China, Japan and in the United States to international students. They spent their retirement years in Bellevue, Washington. After Elchos death in 2006, Millie moved to Nampa, Idaho in 2010 where shortly after she wrote a book of their lives entitled, "He Leadeth Me." On January 2, 2015, she married Thomas "Thom" L. Thompson. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen (Bert) Kubo of Birmingham, Alabama and Miriam (Wichit) Maneevone of Escondido, California; her son, LeRoy (Carol) Redding of Nampa, Idaho; two grandsons, seven granddaughters and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Pauline (Polly) Kihlthau of Stockton, California. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elcho Redding; her parents; sisters, Sadie Ackley and Jeane Smithwick; and accompanied in death by her second husband, Thom Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Lakeview Bible Church, 1010 W. Greenhurst Rd. in Nampa.
