Myrtle Marie Tackett Thiel, 91, of Nampa, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at a Meridian care facility. She was born November 3, 1921 at Amba, Kentucky. She was the 4th child of James Thomas Tackett and Lilly Sword Tackett. She spent her childhood in Kentucky and three years in her early teens working for an Aunt and Uncle in Ohio. About the age of seventeen, she moved with her family to Nampa, Idaho where, along with other family members, she did farm labor on the Tiegs farms. It was there that she met Deleon Thiel. She spent many years being a farm wife, raising her children, tending to bountiful gardens, proving her entrepreneurial skills by selling butter, eggs and poultry. She eventually went to work for Albertsons Poultry Processing and later worked in housekeeping for the Idaho State School. She also worked as an aide at Heritage Place, cared for numerous elderly friends through hospice, and did well in sales with Beauty Counselor and Forever Living Products.
