Norma Coates Obituary Norma Coates June 28, 1923 January 20, 2018 Norma E. Coates, 94, of Nampa, ID, passed away early Saturday morning January 20, 2018. Norma was born on June 28, 1923 in Goodland, KS to Harry and Cora Andrews. She was the fifth child out ten children. Norma moved to Emmett, Idaho when she was a young girl during the dust bowl days. She met and married Percy A. Coates in 1939. They lived in Nampa, Idaho where she worked for Birdseye, Crookham, and was a lunch lady in the Nampa School Dist. They were active with the Junior Old Timers for many years. Norma cherished her time with family and friends. She loved to tease and joke around, she was a lot of fun. She also enjoyed attending church and playing Uno with her friends. Together they had four children, Tommy C., Patricia A., John W., Michael V. Norma is survived by her two children Patricia A. Wolfe (Vearl) and Michael V. Coates (Angela), and her sister Elsie Smyser. Along with 14 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and all but one sibling, husband Percy, sons Tommy, John and daughter-in-law Sharon Lee Coates. Services will be held Saturday January 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651. Graveside services will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
