They became active again in square dancing and joined the Boise Syringa Squares. They also became members of the Amity Methodist Church. Olive volunteered many hours working in the church nursery. Once again in 1987, Olive and Jim moved, only this time out of state to Spokane, WA. They joined the Shadle Park Presbyterian Church and also were active members of the Whirlaway Square Dance Club. Olive spent her spare time volunteering at the Spokane Foodbank.
After Jim passed away in Spokane, November 6, 2004, Olive moved to Nampa, ID to be near her daughter Becky and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Nampa.
