Patricia “Pat” Ann Burden, 77, peacefully passed away on October 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by her deep love for her family, friends, and community.

Born in Pocatello, Idaho on November 20, 1948, Pat was the daughter of Elsy Finney and Benjamin Eugene Miller. She met the love of her life, Dennis Burden, and the two were united in marriage in Puhrump, Nevada, March 30th, 1968. As a devoted Navy wife, Pat embraced what is often called "the toughest job in the Navy," supporting her family through Dennis’s military career and deployments. Throughout their military journeys, they lived across the country in Washington state, California, and Tennessee.

Pat dedicated many years of hard work and care to her community as a school custodian. However, her true claim to fame was her massive heart and the unconditional love she poured into everyone around her. Her life’s mission was simple yet profound: “to make people smile and laugh.” An eternal optimist loved by all, Pat lived life to the fullest every day with a joyful spirit.

She found immense happiness in life's simple pleasures—whether camping and fishing outdoors, playing dominoes, bingo, or "losing quarters". Above all, nothing compared to the joy she felt when spending time with those she held dear.

Pat is survived by her her two children, Darren Burden and Dee McFarland and their spouses Karen Burden and Gary McFarland; her siblings, Bruce Miller and Joyce Hochstetler; her five grandchildren, Grant McFarland, Garrett McFarland, Zack Burden, Emilo Burden, and Jodie Burden; and her great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Reign McFarland.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Dennis Burden, Elsy Finney, and her brother, Clyde Miller.

Pat’s warmth, gratitude, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

In Pat’s own words: “I was so blessed by so many friends and family. You weren’t just my neighbors you’re all family. Look at all the blessings in your life. We don’t recognize most of them. Take one day at a time and find something beautiful in everyday. Once you start looking, you’ll find there are hundreds of blessings out there. Share a smile.”
