Patrick Nathan Johnson

Patrick (Pat) Nathan Johnson passed away surrounded by family on April 24th, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the age of 73. He was born on July 15th, 1952, in New Offenburg, Missouri, the fifth of nine children born to Carson and Mabel Johnson. He later made his home in Parma, Idaho, where he lived for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Mabel Johnson; his brothers, Charlie, JC, and Davie; and the mother of his children, Sharon Cromer.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his daughters, Sarah Small, Amanda Johnson, and Christina Church; and his 15 grandchildren; Emily, Alisa, Mazzy, Olivia, Payton, Mia, Maddy, Jonnathan, Ciarra, Sabrina, Marika, Joshua, Josiah, Aunika, Jedidiah; his step sons, Joe and John; his nephew Stewart; and his five siblings, Mark, Leslie, Mary, Linda, and Joy.

Since Pat was young, he lived a life rooted in the outdoors; he felt most at home in nature, whether hunting, fishing, or guiding others along the Snake River during the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets of Idaho. His years working with Fish and Game reflected not just a career, but a deep passion for nature and the life it holds. He later passed this down to his daughters and granddaughters by teaching them how to outfish anyone and everyone. Pat enjoyed woodworking- putting a whole new meaning to “do it yourself”. Whether it was a trinket box or a gorgeous shed, Pat got it done with ease.

More than anything else, he loved his family unconditionally. His wife, daughters, grandchildren, and loyal pets were the center of his world. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, greeting people with a warm hug or a firm handshake, always offering kindness to anyone he met. If you needed anything at all, Pat was the one to do it. Whether you needed something built or fixed, guidance in your life, or just someone to listen, he was there for it all.

He loved bigger than anyone we have ever known, and that love will continue to live on in all of us. He was truly the best grandpa we could’ve asked for; a strong, kind soul, whose presence brought comfort, joy, and constant laughter.

He will be missed more than words can express, but his legacy will remain in every sunrise, every quiet moment outdoors, and every act of kindness. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him as an unforgettable husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
