Paul Winther Obituary Paul James (PJ) Winther was born May 4, 1924 to JA and Ruth Ball Winther in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. He died December 13, 2020 in Nampa, Idaho from COVID-19. Paul was raised in Nampa with his two brothers, Ken and Tony. He graduated from Nampa High in 1942, enlisted in the Navy, and attended USC after WWII. In 1951, he married Della Weaver and they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary February 24, 2020. They were true life partners. Paul continued the legacy of Winther Music, which his father started in 1943. He had stores in downtown Nampa, Karcher Mall, and Boise. His work ethic and positive attitude were a role model for his children and grandchildren. Paul was very active in the Masonic Fraternity and El Korah Shrine, serving as the Shrine Potentate in 1993. In retirement, he and Della enjoyed traveling, especially RV'ing in the USA and Canada. They enjoyed their summer camping excursions to Wallowa Lake with the grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ken, son Mark, and his wife Della, who passed away on April 19, 2020 from Alzheimers. Paul Winther is survived by his brother Tony Winther (Debbie), his sons Greg Winther (Sheila), and Doug Winther (Joan), and daughters Barb (Greg Jensen), and Kathy (Dana Tuckness). He had 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Family meant a great deal to PJ and he got great enjoyment out of seeing everyone. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Paul's memory to the Idaho Freemason Foundation for Children (219 N. 17th St. Boise, ID 83702).
