Pauline Joan Miyauchi

Pauline Jean Miyauchi (Woodward), 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Nampa on Thursday, August 27, surrounded by her loving family. There will be a visitation at the Nampa Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 7 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. The service will be live streamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/pauline-miyauchi   A private burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.

Pauline was born to Wilbur and Loral Woodward on December 31, 1932, in Silt, Colorado. After the tragic death of her father in a vehicle accident in 1935, her family moved to the Baltimore area before eventually settling in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she graduated from Central High School in 1951. In 1955, Pauline graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago after pursuing studies in Christian Education. Upon returning to Colorado, she met and fell in love with Setsuo “Fred” Miyauchi. They married in 1958 and went on to celebrate 62 years of marriage. Together, they had four children: Garrett (1959), Gregory (1961), Tamalyn (1963), and Terrance (1965), all of whom Pauline cared for while Fred pursued his career as a school principal and minister. The family moved from Denver to Long Beach, California, in 1964, where they remained until 1973, when they moved to Cypress, California. There, Fred pursued a career in the restaurant industry with Marie Callender’s, where Pauline eventually joined him at work. In 1981, the family moved to Boise, Idaho, where Fred opened his own Marie Callender’s restaurant on Fairview Avenue, which he operated until 1990. While in Boise, Pauline earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Boise State University and worked in the local juvenile justice system. She also volunteered her time at the Idaho State Correctional Institution, where she served in prison ministry. In the early 1990s, Fred and Pauline moved to Grand Lake, Colorado. There, the couple began several business ventures, including “Grandma and Grandpa’s” gift shop, “Pauline’s Unique Boutique,” and the Waconda Restaurant, Upon their final retirement, the couple moved to Nampa, Idaho, to spend their remaining years closer to family. Fred passed away in February 2021, after 62 years of marriage to Pauline.

She is survived by her sister, Pat Winder, along with Pauline and Fred’s four children and their spouses: Garrett and Rachel Miyauchi of Nampa, Idaho; Greg and Joan Miyauchi of Grand Lake, Colorado; Tammy and John Roussopulos of Meridian, Idaho; and Terry and Kim Miyauchi of Scottsdale, Arizona. Pauline was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Pauline was also preceded in death by her mother, Loral Barnett and her sister, Nancy Brewer.

Pauline was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and looked forward to spending eternity with Him in heaven.
