Pedro Bilbao, 81, of Arrieta, Vizcaya, Spain passed away July 7, 2014 at his home (Lekerika) in the Basque Country. He was born Feb. 19, 1933 to Miguel Bilbao and Eufemia Olaeta. Pedro came to the United States in 1952 to work for J.D. Aldecoa & Son Sheep Co. The following year he went to work for the Carl Nicholson & Sons Sheep & Cattle Co. and dedicated 40 years working at the ranch in Melba. During his years here he was a member of the Basque Center in Boise. He retired to the Basque Country in 1995 and enjoyed his days playing cards and going on excursions throughout Vizcaya, Guipuzkoa and Navarra. He is survived by his brothers, Norberto & Rafael (Maite) in Spain and his sister-in-law, Luisa Bilbao (Nampa) and her sons, Miguel (Carrie) and John, his cousin and best friend, Pablo Garay (Boise) and numerous nieces and nephews in the Basque Country. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters, Justa, Julia, Pantxi and his brothers, Felix and Eustaquio. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church, 510 W. Roosevelt, Nampa.
