Peggy Ann Cantrell

Peggy Ann Cantrell, 79, of Nampa, Idaho passed to heaven on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Born July 4, 1946, in Canyon County, Idaho to Ralph and Hazel James, Peggy grew up on a farm in Caldwell alongside her sister and four brothers. She graduated from Vallivue High School in 1965 and attended Boise Business College. Peggy began her career with the State of Idaho Auditor’s Office in 1973 and retired as an IT Manager from Health and Welfare in 2004.

Peggy was blessed with a daughter, Stacy, and for many years it was just the two of them. On May 26, 1979, Peggy married the love of her life, Jesse Daniel “Dan” Cantrell, and together they created a family of five with Stacy, and Dan’s two boys, Brian and Steve. Peggy and Dan enjoyed countless road trips together, camping adventures with the family, and taking all the grandkids to Yellowstone. It was a lucky day if you got to fish with Peggy from her special rock at Deadwood Reservoir – and an even better day if she let you jump off the rock and swim, scaring all the fish away. Dan brought his calming presence, lightheartedness, endless humor with inside jokes, and love of exploring the West into Peggy’s life. In turn she was devoted to caring for him and filling his days with joy and happiness. Peggy cherished time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, and those moments kept her young at heart.

Peggy loved the arts and throughout her life enjoyed music, singing, painting, and crafting where she could share her creative spirit. There was never a project she wouldn’t tackle. She found joy with her dear friends at church and Bible study, monthly gatherings, and the occasional girls’ trip.

Those who knew Peggy will remember her warmth, kindness, laughter, and deep love of Dan and her family. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, Dan, the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Love you more.

A viewing will be held at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho on Monday, January 12th, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with Graveside Services at Meridian Cemetery, 895 East Franklin Road, Meridian, Idaho on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
