Phillip E. Born, Sr. passed away on March 25, 2016 in Nampa Idaho. Phil was born in St. Paul Kansas to Phillip J. and Mary P. Born on June 27, 1930, child number 12 of 16. He joined the US Air Force in 1950 and served 20 years and 20 days in a very classified exciting job, He and his family were moved every 18 month. He met Patricia Stanley, April 11, 1953 and they married July 31, 1954 in Omaha Nebraska.
Upon retiring as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, the family moved to Moscow, Idaho where he obtained his teaching degree from the U of Idaho, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He taught Industrial Arts at the Junior High and coached football in Green River, Wyoming. While in Wyoming he attended the U. of Wyoming and Colorado State. Phil retired from the Green River School District because he wanted to move back to Idaho to be with his kids. Phil loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Janelle/Eric Nye, Garrett, Ainsleigh; Grant/Krystal Johnson, Kailee, Gracen, Hayzen; Mitchel Born; Malerie/Sam Bray, Livee and a new great granddaughter on the way.
Phil and Pat moved to Nampa, Idaho and have lived a very happy life. He subbed for the Boise School District, and Meridian School District, taught senior citizens how to use the computer, did income taxes, and enjoyed Mens coffee, monthly socials, loved fishing and making stained glass art. Phil and Pat traveled the United States and Canada in their motorhome with friends and finally settling down in 2014.
Phil was a long time member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church, Meridian Idaho and the Knights of Columbus.
Phil is survived by his wife Patricia of 61 years; and children, Dr. Phillip Born Jr., Nancy (Jeff) Emacio, Boise and Stan (Colette) Born, Gooding Idaho.
A special thank you is extended to the Staff, which he loved, of Brookstone Village, Nampa and Encompass Hospice Care.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian. Interment with military rites will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
