She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Phyllis was born to Lester and Anna Asbury in Boise on August 27, 1928. John and Phyllis married at Baptist Temple in October. Phyllis was married to John for fifty-one years before his death in 1998. She was a loving mother to five children - Nancy Elliott, Merry Nelson, Bonnie Van Manen, John Bertram, and Paul Bertram (preceded in death). She had fifteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren - who all felt equally loved and special to Grandma Bertram, especially on their birthdays. Phyllis Bertram was a devoted follower of Jesus and a founding member of Treasure Valley Baptist Church in Meridian. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and helping children in masters Club.
