Phyllis Ann Troyer

Phyllis Ann Troyer passed away peacefully on the morning of May 29, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho, at the age of 90.

She was born on April 8, 1936, in Waverly, Nebraska, to Claude and Anna Campbell, the fourth of seven children. In 1938, her family moved to Idaho, where she was raised. Phyllis graduated from Nampa High School with the Class of 1955 and went on to work as a secretary and bookkeeper for Nampa Auto and Sears.

In 1958, she married Lyle Freiburghaus, and together they raised two sons, Brian and Darin. Following Lyle’s passing in 1974, Phyllis later married Don Troyer in 1979, warmly welcoming one stepson and four stepdaughters into her family.

Phyllis had a deep and abiding love for her family and friends. She devoted countless hours to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in teaching them to bake and encouraging their creativity—even when it meant messy kitchens and playful experimentation she never asked them to clean up. She also had a fondness for yard sales and rarely resisted when a grandchild asked for “just one more toy.”

A loyal and selfless friend, Phyllis generously gave her time to others. She was an active member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, where she regularly helped prepare meals for memorial services and contributed to Wednesday night dinners.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lyle Freiburghaus; her sister, Arlene Cripe; and her brothers, Willard and Lyle Campbell.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Don Troyer; her children and stepchildren: Brian (Stacy) Freiburghaus, Darin Freiburghaus, Lowell (Marcia) Troyer, Renee (Paul) Corrick, Maryann (Brian) Rhom, Joy (Rob) Forbes, and Regina (Jeff) Lindholm; and her siblings, Sherman Campbell, Phil (Carol) Campbell, and Sharon (Bob) Henry.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 1421 6th Street South, Nampa. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
