Ralph Emerson Ward (83) was born in Nampa, Idaho, on January 2, 1931, and passed away on November 5, 2014 in Caldwell.
He was born to Ralph Richardson and Laura Lorena Ward, one of nine children. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1949, and joined the United States Air Force in 1950, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. He served four years during the Korean War as a Crew Chief with a B-29 Squadron.
While stationed at Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana, he met Faye M. Harcharik; and they were married on December 19, 1954 at the Mont Clair Methodist Church in Belt, Montana. They had five children: Neal (Beverly) Ward; Karla (Nicholas) Becker; Kareen (Edward) Welsh; Kelley Taylor; and Jon (Kandi) Ward. Ralph and Faye are the proud grandparents of 17, and great-grandparents of 5, with one on the way.
Ralph worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years as a Sectionman, Welders Helper, and Track Welder. He also held several positions with the Maintenance of Way Union.
After retirement, he worked on the Election Board with Faye. He enjoyed hunting (all kinds), fishing and travel.
Ralph and Faye have lived in Caldwell at the Autumn Wind Assisted Living facility for the past three years. Ralphs family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Wind for their loving support and service.
