Ramona was born April 15, 1925 in Ricon, New Mexico to Luis Flores and Petra Duran. Ramona moved from Ricon, New Mexico to Wyoming with her parents and siblings in 1933 where she attended schools and began her incredible work ethic. In 1939 she married Joe J. Navarro and soon moved from Wyoming to Pocatello, Idaho then on to to Nampa, ID where they started a family. Ramona spent her first years employed as a field worker where she was known for her tenacity and perfection. She later joined Simplots and Carnations where she became a friend to many. Ramonas hard work ethic was instilled in her 2 sons and 5 daughters. Each of them knew their mothers perseverance and determination. In 1955 Ramona and Joe J. Navarro divorced thus began her journey as a single mother with the added task of raising not only her 7 children but her 6 brothers and 5 sisters as well. Ramona never took a day for granted nor did she let adversity rule her life. She in turn took each day with an open mind knowing her faith in God would see her through any difficult days. In 1960 Ramona met the man that would become her life partner, Martin Zuniga. She and Martin made their home in Nampa where she spent her last days. Ramona enjoyed hunting deer and elk with Martin, her daughters, sons in law and grandchildren, up at Idaho City. She spent numerous holidays fishing in Cascade up at Horsetheif Reservoir. She will forever be remembered for sitting in her chair from sun up to sun down at the "Point" at Horsetheif. Another of her favorite past times was her trips to Jackpot with Martin and her children.
Ramona is followed in death by her mother and father Petra and Luis; her sisters, Irma and Thomasa; and brother, Pepie. She was also preceded in death by her son, Manuel Navarro and grandchildren Florentino, Margareta and Raymond Jr. Ramona is survived by her son Raymond Navarro and his wife Betty of Salt Lake City Utah; 5 daughters, Margaret Mendiola and her husband George, Gloria Flores, Linda Luna and her husband Frank, Mary Martinez and Delores Martinez, all of Nampa. Ramona was blessed to always be surrounded by her 28 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them and never missed out on an opportunity to share stories of her own childhood with them. She will forever be remembered as one of Gods Greatest Angels and a blessing to so many people that she helped and fed. Her fabulous authentic Mexican food she gave to all will be missed. Ramona gave her life to the Lord and now is walking the streets of gold.
