Obituary

Raul Garcia Obituary Raul Q. Garcia was born October 13, 1939, in Durango, Mexico to parents Petra Quezada and Jesus Garcia. He went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 18, 2024, at the age of 85. When he entered eternal rest, he did so peacefully surrounded by his loved ones and extended family. He met his wife, Esperanza, who resides in Nampa, at a dance at Farmway Village in Caldwell and got married in 1966 in Gral. Teran, Mexico. Raul has four children, Ramon Garcia (Mary), Irma Morin (Anthony), Jesus Garcia, and Raul Garcia (Maggie), 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Vicenta Ojeda, Magdaleno Garcia (Delores) and Eugenia Orozco (Kenny) and numerous nieces and nephews. Raul started working at a young age as farmworker, a forest firefighter, worked at Engineered Structures Inc., JR Simplot Co. and then he started his own business "Garcia Remodeling". He was an entrepreneur and a jack of all trades. Once he set his mind to something, it was done. He instilled values of unity and hard work in his children, that helped them strive to success. He played the guitar and loved to sing; he played in a band with his brothers called "Los Hermanos Garcia" and later joined a Mariachi group led by Rudy Rodriguez. Raul loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He would tell jokes nonstop, once you got him started, there was no end. He instilled many life lessons in his loved ones and would use random sayings that he had that had a meaningful impact on his grandkids. E.g. "No seas Soflam" and "Caveza de Cornoque" meaning dont exaggerate and dont be a knucklehead. Raul would routinely share with his children and grandchildren that on one occasion in his younger years he became so ill that he thought he was going to die. He prayed to God for an opportunity to live, to get married to a good woman and to have children. God granted his prayer. For this reason, he endured almost 10 years of dialysis without missing a day. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Alvaro Q. Garcia, Santos Quezada, Socorro Salcido and Teresa Martinez. A Vigil will be held on Wednesday with a Viewing at 5pm and Rosary at 7pm at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 pm Thursday at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Cavalry Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Nampa Liberty Dialysis for their kindness, patience and incredible care to Raul and his family.
