Raylene Taylor Longstaff, 58, of King Hill, Idaho, was born in DeLeon Texas on October 15, 1967, and passed away on June 26, 2026, in Boise Idaho, leaving behind a legacy of fierce love, endless laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Raylene was truly one of a kind. Behind her sharp wit and wonderfully spirited personality was a woman with a heart of gold. She was a mother to everyone—willingly stepping in as a "second mom" to shelter, support, and listen to both kids and adults who were going through a hard time, even when she was barely making it herself. Whether she was donating items to neighbors after local fires or putting together her famous "end-of-the-month meals," Raylene’s generosity knew no bounds.
She was an extraordinary cook who could effortlessly whip up a delicious meal out of absolutely nothing. And while her family fondly remembers that her fluffy biscuits were unmatched, they also laughingly recall that baking desserts was best left to someone else. Raylene loved the simple, joyful chaos of life: hunting for treasures at a Saturday morning yard sale, filling a minivan to the brim with kids and finds, and sharing life’s ups and downs with her inner circle. More than anything, her grandchildren were her absolute world, and a simple picture of them could instantly light up her day.
Raylene brought an unforgettable spark to every room she walked into. She was the life of the party, a fiercely loyal friend, and her family's biggest, loudest, and most intentionally embarrassing fan. No one will ever forget her cheering at ball games with a kazoo and plenty of silly nicknames. She loved whole-heartedly—even if she could be a little feisty from time to time—and you always knew exactly where you stood with her. Raylene lived life on her own terms, loved her people with everything she had, and made the world a whole lot brighter and funnier. She will never be forgotten.
Raylene is survived by her beloved husband, Lucas Longstaff; her mother, Karen Hulsey; her three brothers, Richard, Gary, and Kevin Hulsey; her daughters, Brittney Henage and Ashlynn Hunter; and her sons, Brad Parker and Austin Hulsey. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Aunicca Henage, Zachary Henage, Braiden Parker, Kason Parker, Michael Burstron Jr., Vonnie Hulsey, and Waylon Burstron.
She was preceded in death by her deeply loved dad, Huck; her best friend, Sheldon Taylor; and, of course, her beloved dog, Jack.
We will have a celebration of life on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the Moose Lodge in Glenn's Ferry Idaho at 1pm. Please bring a snack or dessert to share.
