Raymond Cooke Obituary Raymond McIntyre Cooke was born on September 17, 1932 to Fred and Elizabeth Cooke in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021 after a long life dedicated to God, Christian higher education and the Church. He passed away at home in Karcher Estates Nampa with his beloved wife Connie by his side. Raymond moved from his home in Calgary to pursue his education at Northwest Nazarene College. On September 4, 1954 he married Connie Lema Mitchell whom he met at NNC. They married in Newport, Oregon where her family resided. When he graduated from NNC he went on to attend the University of Idaho where he received his Master of Arts and then on to the University of Oregon where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree. After his time at the U of O Raymond took a teaching position at Pasadena College in the history department. There in Pasadena, he and Connie raised four children. In 1971 Raymond moved his family to Nampa, Idaho, to teach at Northwest Nazarene College where he served for many years as the head of the history department. He retired from teaching in 1996 but not from keeping busy. He and Connie volunteered weekly for years at Hands of Hope, sorting, boxing, and shipping medical supplies to hospitals in need around the world. He also had a great passion for making movies, traveling and "train-chasing"; especially steam trains. He also had a great love for meeting with friends weekly at the local eateries. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Connie, his four children, Connibeth, Michael, Roland and LaRae. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah and Walker and four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Lizee, Evelyn and Thomas. There will not be a funeral service but he will be interred at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa. Services Private Interment Kohlerlawn Cemetery 76 6th Street North Nampa, Idaho 83687
