Renae Romans Obituary Renae Lee Romans June 12, 1935 - July 7, 2024 Renae Lee Romans passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024 in Vale, Oregon. Funeral services will be held Friday July 12, 2024 at 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vale. A family reception will be from 9:15-9:45 am. Renae was born to Clarence and Luraine Lee in Woods Cross, Utah on June 12, 1935. When she was 10-years-old, her parents moved to Ontario, Oregon where they started farming. Every summer, Renae could be found hoeing onions and beets for her dad and uncle. Renae attended grade school at Cairo Elementary and went on to graduate from Ontario High School. Throughout school, Renae was very active in the 4-H program, and it was there that she would meet the love of her life, Kenny Romans. Ken and Renae married right after she graduated from high school on May 28th, 1953. Together they made their first home in Willowcreek, Oregon where Ken farmed with his father. They would soon welcome baby Brenda, followed by Bill, Nancy, Karen, and Greg into their happy home, and Renae devoted her time and energy to raising and caring for her family. Having been raised as an only child, Renae always enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Many happy occasions were spent in the Romans home in family celebrations. Mom was always one to keep busy. She loved working on sale day at the Ontario Sale Yard and being a teller at the U.S. Bank in Vale. In 1982, Renae and her daughter, Nancy, opened a children's clothing store-Renae's Tot Shop-in downtown Ontario. For fifteen years, she and Nancy loved going to the clothes market and meeting friends both old and new at the shop. In 1997, Renae decided to retire. The next chapter of her life was spent enjoying adventures with Dad, including fishing boating, traveling with Wanda and Benny Maag, taking in the occasional Mariner's game, and attending as many of the sporting events of their grandchildren as they could! Renae was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings; she and Dad especially loved serving together in the Boise temple. She was devout to the end, renewing her temple recommend just days before her passing. In 2015, a new chapter began when Dad passed away. Mom, always used to an active life, moved to Pioneer Place where she made new friends among the kind staff and renewed lifelong friendships with many of her fellow residents. She loved having family and friends visit. While there she was able to continue her love of reading-she read every day and always appreciated when someone brought her a new book Renae leaves behind 5 children: Brenda (Mark) Hartley of Nyssa, Bill (Cindy) Romans of Westfall, Nancy (Ed) Anthony of Vale; Karen (Mark) Larson of American Fork, Utah; and Greg (Sheryl) Romans of Vale. She leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Luraine, her older brother Thomas, her husband Ken, her granddaughter Heather Larson, and great grandchildren Jenna Hartley, Hallie Romans, Lola Johnson, and Claire 'the heart warrior' Ruf. Donations can be made to Pioneer Place at 1060 'D' St. West, Vale, Oregon 97918, where Renae resided for the last 8 years.
