Obituary

Reverend David Keith Jacobsen died at home with his family present on May 23, 2016 on his 66th birthday. He is preceded in death by both parents, Ralph and Lori Jacobsen. He has one sister, Debbie Drolette living in Shady Cove Oregon. He has two children, Janet Jacobsen of Boise Idaho and Jennifer Rodriguez of Fruitland Idaho. He is also survived by two grandsons (his pride and joy) Tyson Rodriguez and Casey Rodriguez. He has multiple nieces and nephews. He was born in Glendale California, but spent the majority of his school years at South Lake Tahoe, California where he met his wife Minda L. Jacobsen, his high school sweetheart. They were married July 18, 1971 following her graduation from nursing school. He obtained a Bachelors Degree from Humboldt State University in 1973 and a Masters of Ministry from Northwest Nazarene University in 1993. He was a man of multiple careers and talents including that of police officer, uniform shop owner, and most recently Safety Specialist at Northwest Nazarene University. He could fix anything. His life passion was for ministry and he served as senior pastor in Parma Church of the Nazarene for 13 years and also pastored in Council Idaho. He loved his monthly ministry to the Juntura Bible Church and had many friends there. He retired from NNU in January of 2016. He loved Jesus, camping, hunting, trapping, fishing, friends and most of all watching his grandsons play baseball. A memorial service will be held at the Ontario First Church of the Nazarene in Ontario, Oregon on June 4th at 11 a.m. under direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Donations may be made to the Opal Foundation of Heartn Home Hospice who provided peace and comfort for him at the time of his passing.
