Obituary

With his wife beside him the spirit of Richard D. Degitz, of Middleton, returned to the Lord, Thursday evening, November 15, 2012. He will be lovingly and greatly missed by his wife, Jubilee Julie, his two sons, Jason and Jake, his grand-daughter, Emma, his two sisters Vickie Schaff an and Patty Blakely, his brother, Steve Degitz, numerous relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evonne Degitz. The world became blessed on December 29, 1953, the day Richard was born. He was born in Ontario, Oregon but grew up in Halfway, OR and Homedale, ID where he graduated high school in 1972. Richard and his wife, Jubilee Julie married May 1, 1988 and moved to Middleton in 1989 and shared the joy of raising two fine sons, Jason and Jake. He worked for Idaho Power 17 years before starting their business of Paradise Excavation and Construction in 1994. Richard was easily recognized by his tall and lean stature of 6 foot 6-1/2 inches but he was known for his integrity, honesty, kindness, sense of humor, gentleness and great generosity. He was a man of his word and lived his faith daily in humility and grace. He felt very blessed by the Lord because he got to live his dream ... being a father. Above all else, Richard will be remembered for being the most caring and loving husband and father any wife and children could possibly have. Anyone who knew Richard knew he was a devoted family man and down to earth guy with simple pleasures. He loved to hunt, fish, snow mobile, Jet Ski with his family and commune with God in nature. At Richard's request, a private family burial service was held Monday, November 19th at New Meadows, Idaho. Richard also requested family and friends celebrate the essence of his life and not mourn the absence of his body. In honoring his wishes, the family invites you to their Open House Life Celebration Friday, November 23rd from 1pm -5pm located at their home, 24796 Middleton Rd, Middleton, Idaho. Please bring your favorite food to share, your favorite story of Richard to tell and join his family in the joy of knowing and loving a great and good man. At 3pm, his Messianic Rabbi and dear friend, Jack Kaufman will say Kaddish, a few words and invite family and friends to share their thoughts and memories of Richard. If you are too shy to do it in front of a crowd then by all means share among one another and with his family during this time of blessing and remembering. At 5pm the celebration of Richard's life will close with a few words from Pastor Wayne Schuler and prayer. The family wants to express their heartfelt gratitude to XL Hospice for their caring attention to Richard, with special thanks to Vickie, his sister, Stephanie, Kaylee, and Brock. The family also wants to express their sincere thanks to ALL their family and friends who have covered them in prayers and love during this difficult time. Above all, they give thanks to the Lord for every moment they were given with Richard Duane Degitz. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
