Rita Copenhaver Obituary Rita Marilyn Copenhaver 1938 - 2024 Rita Marilyn Copenhaver, 86, of Nampa passed early Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024, at home with family. She was born to the late James (Jim) and Lucille Cox, August 27, 1938, in Nampa, Idaho. Rita married Keith Copenhaver on September 24, 1957. As the story goes Rita picked Keith out in the first grade and together, they shared a wonderful marriage of 55 years. Rita started her career as a bank teller with US Bank, in Nampa. She later worked at Grange Mutual Life Insurance, Downtown Printing, J & D Printing in Meridian, then bought her own typesetting business "Ritas Typography." Rita was an avid gardener, bird watcher, genealogy researcher, reader, and collector of Beanie Babies and depression glass. She loved to travel to the Oregon coast and couldnt pass up a good game of solitaire. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend. Rita is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Keri and Rick Bucknell, of Nampa; her daughter, Karen Kirby, of Nampa; her grandkids: Crystal Carter, Kristopher Copenhaver, Krista and Beau Hurley, and Amber Bucknell; her great-grandkids, Kai and Kenzie, Brayden and Aleena, Sereia Copenhaver and Addy Kirby. Brother, Vern Cox of Boise; sister, Janet Pendleton of Caldwell; sister, Debbie Livesay of Marsing; brother, Lee Cox of Las Vegas; and Gail Jackson of Kuna. Many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Lucille Cox, her husband Keith Vernon Copenhaver, and her son Kevin Keith Copenhaver. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you share with them your favorite memory, special story, or photo of Rita for their album. There will also be a time at the service for sharing.
