She attended Lone Tree School, St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Nampa Senior High in 1948. While she was in school, she worked in the packing sheds and fields. After graduation she worked at Stanford's Variety Store. On August 4, 1951, Cliff and Rita were married at St. Paul's Catholic Church where she continued to be a lifelong member. She continued to work at Stanford's until they started their family, and she became a homemaker. Rita enjoyed sewing for her girls (and their dolls), making clothes, Girl Scout costumes for Juliette Low Day, Easter dresses, high school dance dresses and prom dresses. She also made many of her own clothes. Rita enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader while her daughters were in Scouts, and she was active in St. Paul's School PTA and other school activities. She liked cooking, collecting, and trying new recipes. Mom and Grandma Korn prepared many wonderful Sunday family and holiday dinners. Rita loved spending time with her grandsons, going to their activities and was so proud of them.
After Jon was born in 1973, she was once again busy with visits and story time at the library, pre-school, kindergarten and first grade activities. Rita spent several years as an Avon representative and also worked in the St. Paul's school lunch program.
