Obituary

Rita Rae Miller, 80, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home October 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Rita was born on February 11, 1945, in Hutchison, Kansas, to Floyd and Freda Miller, Rita grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She graduated from Wester Mennonite High School in Salem, Oregon. She served faithfully at Mercy Hospital, Idaho Foot & Ankle, and spent the longest part of her career at Medical Center Physicians- touching many lives with her compassion and work ethic. On life's journey, Rita married her beloved husband, Emerson Miller. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Lyndee Conway and Angie Williams, Rita found immense joy in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her grandchildren- Andrew (Katie) Conway, Marc Conway, Garrett Williams, Parker Williams and Kenadee Williams-and was overjoyed to welcome her great-grandson, Brian Conway. She loved flowers, gardening, yardwork, and tending to her many indoor plants. Her home was her sanctuary-her favorite place to be. Rita also had a playful and unmistakable personality. She was known for her contagious laugh, her love for fun and her sharp wit. She enjoyed long phone calls with her sisters, decorating her home, listening to music, playing games, and yes-burning trash, a quirky tradition she proudly owned.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Freda Miller. She is survived by her devoted husband, Emerson; daughters, Lyndee (Conway) and Angie (Williams); grandchildren and great-grandson; and her siblings: Nadine Neufeld, Floyd (Julia) Miller, William (Sharon) Miller, Ed (Jan) Miller, Keith (Vickie) Miller, Connie (Neal) Anderson, and Bonnie Gerig. Rita was lovingly cared for in her final days by Idaho Home Health & Hospice.
