Robert 'Bob' Bailey Obituary Robert "Bob" E. Bailey 5-6-1932 - 8-6-2024 Robert "Bob" E. Bailey went home to be with Jesus his Savior on August 6, 2024. Bob was born in Denver Colorado to John and Pearl (Kachel) Bailey. He was one of 16 children. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955. From his first marriage he had two girls and one son. Not much is known about his second marriage. In 1988 under two trees in a park in Stevenson, Washington he married my mom, Lois M. Pinner. They were married for 34 years until her passing on April 7, 2023, at their home in Nampa Idaho. When they lived in Portland Bob delivered The Oregonian newspaper at night for over 20 years. He mostly worked in restaurants as a cook. He worked at his last job at Bill's steakhouse in Portland for many years. They were famous for their steaks. A few years after his retirement they moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to Rhonda, his stepdaughter. Bob enjoyed his workshop and taught himself to do woodworking. He loved to find clocks at the thrift store and take them apart and make a new one out of wood. He loved making birdhouses. He also made square wooden block keychains that he would share with friends and family. He loved yard work and weeding Mama's garden. He loved putzing around outside painting and making bricks for the walkway. When he wasn't outside, he could be found in his room reading his Bible and listening to Gospel music. Bob was a man of God and he loved and served the Lord all 92 years of his life. Bob's eyes would light up when friends would come to visit and bring sweets, especially coconut cream pie. Which also happened to be his wife, Lois's favorite. A special memory between Rhonda and him was when she would bring over a strawberry shake from Sonic. He loved the strawberry shakes from Sonic and Lois loved their sweet tea. After his wife's death his health declined and he lived out the last months of his life at Ashley Manor memory care unit in Eagle, Idaho. Special thanks to Courtney for bringing joy to Bob. Special thanks to White Oaks Hospice for their care in the end. Bob is survived by his three children and grandchildren. One sister Joann (Chuck) Parker in Oregon. His stepdaughter, Rhonda Hohnstein of Nampa, Idaho and a few special friends. Special thanks to my dear friend Shirley Robinson for all of her love and friendship and support and help getting me through the loss of my precious mama and Bob these last 16 months. Condolence cards may be sent to Rhonda Hohnstein. Services Private Interment Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road Boise, ID 83714
