Robert Leroy Miller , 84 Pastor Bob of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 due to a short illness at a local care facility in Nampa. Pastor Bob was born on April 9, 1930 (the 10th of 13 children) in Guernsey, Wyoming. Bob grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. During high school he won all conference honors in football and upon graduation in 1948, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he earned battle stars for service in the Korean War. Upon his discharge from military service, Pastor Bob earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from Pasadena Nazarene College. Bobs passion in life was found in sharing Gods love and telling others about his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. In 1951, Pastor Bob committed his life to full time Christian service and he never looked back. He served in churches in California and in Nampa, ID. He also served as the Alumni Director for Point Loma Nazarene University and as the Superintendent at Nampa Christian Schools. For over 35 years he served as an Associate Pastor at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene as Director of Christian Life and as Senior Adult Minister. In 2009, Pastor Bob retired from active ministry due to poor health. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Josiah and Esther Miller, 7 sisters and 3 brothers and an infant daughter, Brenda Lynn Miller. Survivors include his wife Jane Miller of Nampa, son Robert (Judith) Miller of Hawaii, son Jeffrey (Janelle) Miller of Nampa and daughter Rhonda (Glenn) Gray of Nampa; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, his brother Joe (Naomi) Miller of Louisiana and brother Jim (Joanne) Miller of Colorado, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Boise VA and Trinity Mission (12th Ave.) for the wonderful care that was given to Bob. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 10:30 a.m. at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene 601 16th Ave. South Nampa with military honors by personnel from the U.S. Marine Corps. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th. Ave. So. on Friday evening, Nov. 21, 2014 from 6 8 PM.
