Robert “Bob” Danny Freeman, 80, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the Veterans Hospital in Boise, Idaho, from gastric cancer, with family by his side.
Born March 20, 1946, in Dardanelle, Arkansas, Bob moved to Stockton, California as a child. He served as an Army Special Forces Green Beret paratrooper during Vietnam, then spent 40 years at Union Planning Mill, rising from apprentice to senior project manager and longtime instructor.
He was first married to Barbara Lee Stevenson (36 years); they had two children, Amy and Gregory. He later married Jayne Maas. Bob is survived by his wife Jayne, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings Patsy Freeman May and Lena Freeman Bork.
He enjoyed hunting, golfing, hiking, and RVing, and will be remembered for his service, work ethic, and love of family.
A service honoring the life of Robert "Bob" Danny Freeman will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial, 14165 Beckman Road, Lodi, California 95240, near the resting place of his beloved grandson, Zachary.
