Robert Carl (Bob) Burnett, 70, of Nampa, ID passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.
He was born in Bakersfield, CA on Dec. 30, 1943, to Dortha Allene and Carl Columbus Burnett. Bob graduated from Chico, High School, CA, plus completed a few years of college. He married his High School sweetheart (Deborah Joanne Debbie Cogburn) on June 08, 1963. Together they started their family, having three children in California, later moved to Idaho to call their new home in 1974. Bob lost Debbie to cancer in 1994, he was never the same. We know in our hearts that they are back together again, happy, in peace and in each others arms. Bob worked for the Union Pacific Rail Road from 1965 to 2004, as a Conductor and UTU Local Chairman, many good times and great friends here. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoor type of guy, loved to argue and could be stubborn as a mule at times, but soft as a big ole teddy bear and mushy as can be inside. He taught us how to think for ourselves and work things out at a very young age, that treating others respectfully was the right thing to do and holding your family and loved ones dear and closest to your heart was what life was all about. He was a great photographer, loved cool old cars and old westerns (John Wayne was his favorite). He would do anything for the ones he loved or even a complete stranger and is known as a very well respected man and friend in his community. He was and always will be a devoted and loving husband, an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and greatest friend to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by: Deborah Joanne Burnett (Wife), Carl Burnett (Father), Dortha Shippy (Mother), Harry Shippy (Dad), Betty Burnett (Sister), Gerald Anthony Burnett (Brother who died at 6 months old) and Brittany Burnett (Granddaughter).
He is survived by three children: Robert Kenneth Burnett of Conifer, CO, Ronald Keith Burnett and Rhonda Kay Burnett of Nampa, ID. Three Grandchildren; Robert Konner, Deborah Kaitlyn and Ronald Carl. Brother James Shippy. He is also survived by; Michelle Burnett, Lisa Burnett, Amber Kenneda and, Steve and Jackie Brown (his dearest friends), plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
