Robert Bob Laible, 78, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at his home in Nampa. He was born March 10, 1936, in Nampa, Idaho to Karl J and Adeline (Schwarze) Laible. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1954 where he played basketball, intramural sports and was in band. He met our mother, Virginia Amelia Brittin at the Catholic Cabrini Club. They were married at St. Pauls Church on November 24, 1956. He attended Boise Junior College and studied to be an apprentice Electrician. He later became a Journeyman Electrician for 43 years and worked 30 of those years at Electric Service Company. He was a member of the IBEW Local 291. Just a few of his many career accomplishments in his electrical work can be found most at Hewlett Packard Campus, Morrison Knudsen, control panel at LNG plant northeast of Nampa, three of the Sizzlers restaurants and several other buildings in the area. Robert was also in the National Idaho Air Guard for 11 years as a reservist. He was an Honorary Life Time Member since 1956 of the Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul II Council #2014. He served as a Grand Knight. He was one of the youngest Grand Knights in council history. Roberts hobbies included hunting with his brothers Karl J., Raymond , sons, Robert Jr, his late son Christopher and his Uncle Ernest Schwarze in Silver City, Idaho. He always until recently had a huge garden that the whole family gathered together to freeze corn and can tomatoes. The neighbors enjoyed his harvest too! His special sweet corn always brought great reviews by everyone. He was a perfectionist with his yard and landscaping. One thing that we learned from and admired about Dad was when he would set his mind to a project it was completed to perfection. He is survived by his children Terry Hodge (Steve) of Nampa, Robert Jr. of Nampa, and Karleen Michael (John) of Boise; seven grandchildren Laura, Jennifer, Matthew, Becca, Allie, Kelly, and Amelia; seven great grandchildren Caden, Madison, Nub, Christopher, Cason, Alivea, and Averie; Brothers Karl J. Jr. Laible (Susan) of Nampa, Raymond J. Laible (Katherine Korba) of Pocatello; his Uncle Ernest Schwarze of Nampa; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and sons David and Christopher. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 5. 2015 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
