Rev. Robert W. "Pastor Bob" Manley joined his Heavenly Father while at home on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born on December 14, 1924 near Yuma, CO. He spent his younger years in Colorado until he joined the U.S. Army in April, 1943. He married Dorothy Foraker, his high school sweetheart in September, 1943, at eighteen years of age in Grand Junction, Colorado.
He lived out the biblical admonition that "each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering Gods grace in its various forms .. so that God may be praised through Jesus Christ". (I Peter 4:912 NIV)
He served the Army 30 months during World War II and received the Bronze Star for meritorious service. His pastoral ministry began at Center Point Community Church west of Caldwell while in college. Bob graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in 1950 and ministered in Nazarene churches in Madison, South Dakota, Union, Missouri, Kinnear, Wyoming, Nyssa, Oregon and Eagle, Idaho. His twenty eight years of pastoral ministry was followed by fifteen years in church administration for the Intermountain District Church of the Nazarene. Since retiring in 1991, he continued serving in Pastoral Care ministries throughout the Treasure Valley of Idaho as an associate pastor at College Church of the Nazarene in Nampa. Bob also volunteered for several local organizations and agencies including Mission Aviation Fellowship, and Love Inc.
Surviving Bob are Ronald (Nancy) Manley, Cambridge, Idaho; Sherilyn (Bill) Hoyt, Tillamook, Oregon; Brenda Manley, Puyallup, Washington; and Geren (Barbara) Manley, of Nampa; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren plus two great grandchildren yet to be born, four siblings, as well as a number of other relatives and friends, including special and dear friend, Clarie Nicholson of Nampa.
