Robert Lester Rose passed away at his Nampa home early Thursday morning January 23, 2014. Bob was born April 13, 1930 in San Francisco, California to Edwin Kaumualiiokamokuokalani and Gladys Rose. Bob had 12 brothers and sisters. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1948, at the tail end of WWII. He re-enlisted several times. Bob served a total of 22 years when he retired in January 1978 as a tech sergeant. During his time of active duty, Robert was awarded several medals, some of which include: Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service medal, Good Conduct Medal Bronze Clasp with two loops, Good Conduct Medal Bronze Clasp with 4 loops and 5 loops. Bob was a WWII and Korean War veteran. Bob met his wife, Dale Johanne Klemm while stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska in 1957. Robert and Johanne (JoJo as he lovingly called her), were married September 27, 1958 at Calvary Baptist Church, Alaska. They were blessed with three children, Robert Jr., Brenda, and Anthony. Bob started his ministry work after his military career. Some of the ministries included Jam-Wam, Christian Motorcycle Association, Royal Rangers, Mega Mens, prison ministry just to name a few. Although already a minister, Bob became a commissioned minister with Assemblies of God in 2011. Bob thoroughly enjoyed being a grandpa. He became a Royal Rangers commander when his grandsons started Royal Rangers. He was always a medal winner in the Pine Wood Derby races! If he wasnt at his grandsons baseball or football games, he was out on the lake fishing with them. He enjoyed traveling to California and Alaska with his precious granddaughter. Those two shared a love for singing. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Survivors include his adoring wife, Johanne, his son Robert, daughter Brenda (Fred), and their youngest son Anthony (Becky). Surviving grandsons include Shelby, Spencer, and Aaron and granddaughter, Leilani. Celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Christian Faith Center, 31 S. Midland Blvd, Nampa. Graveside services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise at 3:00 pm. Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
