Ruby E. (Maher) Staples passed away on November 7, 2013 after a long full life. Ruby was born, December 25, 1919 at Cliffs, Idaho, the fifth child to Ambrose and Ethel Maher. She attended school in Cliffs, Idaho and Jordan Valley, Oregon. She married Jack Staples and they had two children Shirley and Dan. Ruby lived in the Jordan Valley area for the majority of her life. She and Jack worked, leased and owned ranches. Ruby was a ranch wife in the truest sense from breaking colts, working in the hay fields to building a barn, she loved it all. She and Jack raised thoroughbred race horses that raced in the Pacific Northwest and Canada and also had registered Hereford cattle. She was a great mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ruby is proceeded in death by her husband Jack and son Dan, her parents Ambrose and Ethel Maher. Brothers Frank, George, Charlie Maher, five sisters, Mary Greenwald, Irene Foster, Gertrude Anderson, Agnes Payne, and Margret Hemmert. Ruby is survived by her daughter Shirley and son-in law Kenny, grandson Robert, granddaughter Sharon and her husband Richard. Sisters-in-laws Louise Maher, Alice Maher, and Jeri Uranga. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, grand nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews that were all dearly loved. The family wishes to thank her caregivers Billie, Monique and Theresa for their loving and professional care. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, in Caldwell, Idaho. Dinner will follow at the Caldwell Elks Lodge. Private burial for immediate family will be held at a later date.
