Russell Lee "Skip" Worthan, 76 passed away at home January 10, 2014 of complications from kidney disease and cancer. Skip was born April 15, 1937 in Pickering, Missouri to Russell Samuel and Flora Lela Horn Worthan. His family moved to Boise when he was 3. He went to North Junior High and graduated from Boise High School in 1956. He attended Boise Junior College and graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Accounting. He worked for the IRS in Oakland CA and then in 1963 started working for Intermountain Gas in Boise. He spent 37 years there until his retirement in 2000. He started work there as an accountant then moved to treasurer then eventually to Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Resource Planning. In 1963 Skip met and married Lee Ann Edgington of Idaho Falls. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary in October. They had two children Jon and Mollie. Skip had many hobbies. He trained dogs and earned many trophies and ribbons. He also loved photography and hunting. But his biggest love of all was Golf. He won many tournaments including the Governors cup and had 2 hole in ones. Skip is survived by his wife Lee Ann Worthan, his son Jon Worthan, Daughter Mollie Worthan Clark, son in law John Clark and grandchildren Austin and Josh Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis, MISTI and Hearts For Hospice for their loving care during his illness. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to MISTI or The National Kidney Foundation. Services will be held Friday January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the LDS church at 2650 S Five Mile Rd. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 6-8 PM and again on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the same location. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
