IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra "Sandee" Jean
Cotten
February 12, 1961 – November 12, 2025
Sandee was born in Butte, MT to Ralph and Shirley Williams. Growing up in Montana, she gained a love for all things outdoors. This love for nature continued through her entire life, taking her on many adventures. A couple of her favorite places were the Oregon Coast and Rabbit Creek in Idaho. She loved to camp, fish, and be out on a boat either relaxing in the water or skiing. The family moved to Boise and Sandee graduated from Borah High School, where she participated on the cheer team. She also followed in the footsteps of her mom and sister, and their love of bowling. Being part of the Women's International Bowling Congress, and several local leagues, she went all over the country. Sandee was a great bowler, having several 300 games and high series awards under her belt.
Sandee was an accomplished quilter, making wall hangings for the holidays and quilts for friends and family. She was also a creative painter. She would hold small classes for friends at home, walking everyone though how to paint different decorative pieces, as well as selling cookie jar lids that she would hand paint. Sandee loved teaching people new skills and would really light up when someone improved. She also greatly enjoyed being a volunteer EMT for the Idaho City Ambulance and the Forest Service.
The last few years Sandee was a bus driver and trainer for Brown Bus and then First Student in the Nampa School District. She truly loved her job, making several special friendships in the process. Sandee liked the fact that she was her granddaughter's bus driver, getting to see her every day outside the house.
Family was so important to Sandee, and if you were a close friend, you were family. She would help you with anything she could and got real joy from it, never expecting anything in return. Sandee had her daughter Tina in 1980 and passed along her love of camping and creativity. Her nieces Jenny and Kristy were also, so very special to her and she would spend as much time as she could with them as well as Kristy's children Michael, Caleb, Lillian, and Sydney, and her granddaughters Cherish and Meggian who were the lights of her life. Sandee looked forward to seeing her nephews Randy, Christian, and Nathaniel, although they lived in Alaska.
Sandee passed away at home, age 64, with her daughter and niece Kristy by her side, after an all too brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter Tina of Nampa, brother Mike in Texas, Father Ralph in Arizona, her nieces, nephews, and granddaughters. Sandee is preceded in death by her mother Shirley and sister Cheryl.
