Sarah Lynn Montoya

September 6, 1959 — March 16, 2026

Meridian

Sarah Lynn Montoya passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on March 16, 2026, at the young age of 66 in her home in Meridian, Idaho. She was a vibrant woman who deeply loved life, nature, and the people around her. She had a remarkable gift for welcoming others into her heart—often “adopting” anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Sarah was born on September 6, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, to James and Ann Frazier. She was raised alongside her five siblings: Jimmy, Carol, Roy, Mike, and Tammy.

She was a devoted mother to her four children—Annie Lee, Steven Wayne, Jacqueline Delight, and Amanda Lee—who blessed her with 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Sarah married Jim Montoya on August 12, 1980, and together they built a life centered on family and love.

Sarah found great joy in the outdoors and cherished traveling with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She raised her family in Powell, Wyoming, where she made history as the first female head custodian of the high school gym. During her time at Powell High School, she became a beloved mother figure to many students.

In 2014, Sarah returned to Nampa, Idaho, to be closer to her family. She later worked as a custodian at Nampa High School—her own alma mater—where she once again formed meaningful connections and became a trusted and caring presence for students. Her kindness and open heart left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ann Frazier; her brothers, Jimmy and Roy Frazier; and her husband, Jim Montoya.

She is survived by her siblings: Carol (Steve), Mike, and Tammy (Jay); her children: Annie (Kasey), Steven, Jacqueline (Zac), and Amanda (Jason); her grandchildren: David, Angeles, Matthew (Hayden), Fawantain (Star), Damon, Lacie (Brody), Anthony (Railyn), Zelika (Kaden), Dakota, Austyn, Ethan, Emily, Evan, Eelan, and Edith; and her great-grandchildren: Douglas, Kinsley, Alora, Calliope, Kasey, and Marie.
