Sharon E. Jewell

Sharon E. Jewell, 80, Nampa, passed away on August 12th, 2026. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So.

Sharon was born on September 17, 1945, in Lincoln Nebraska to Leroy and Fern (Michael) Scheffert. She was later joined by a brother Dennis and a sister Joanie. In August of 1956, the family moved to Idaho. Sharon attended Nampa schools, graduating in 1963 from Nampa High. She met a man named Wayne Jewell. Their first date was on April Fools’ Day and they married that same year on October 9, 1965. They had 3 children. Daughter Lisa in 1966, son Jay in 1970 and son Steve in 1974. Sharon spent many years volunteering and working as a teacher's assistant with the Nampa School District. She made many great friends in those years and cherished them all her life. She was a selfless, kind, and helpful person who always put others first. Family was Sharon’s main passion in life. She spent many years sitting on sports bleachers. She would cheer on her boys during the games and teach life lessons on the drive home about humility in winning and grace in losing. Sharon was the family’s holiday and celebration planner, creating joyful gatherings filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her home was always a welcoming place where family and friends felt comfortable, valued, and at home. A particular family favorite was Christmas Bingo. It always brought laughter to the point of tears, smiles of joy, and the love of family togetherness. Sharon cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was watching them grow, sharing in their lives and creating special memories together. She created a legacy of love that will continue through her family and all whose lives she touched.

Sharon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Jason) Weil and her son and daughter-in-law, Steve (Summer) Jewell and four grandchildren, Jake, Matthew, Andreja, Keaton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and son Jay.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
