Sharon S. MacDonald, 80, of Nampa, joined the Lord in Heaven on July 8, 2015. She departed the earth surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born to Howard and Fern Torkelson on June 11, 1935, in Redlands, California. She attended Redlands High School in Redlands, CA, and graduated in 1953. After graduation, she worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company in her hometown. She met her husband, Robert G. MacDonald at a rollerskating rink, and they married in Redlands on September 4, 1954.
Sharon and Robert were blessed with two sons; Robert H. MacDonald in 1956, and William W. MacDonald in 1959. The family relocated to Nampa in 1972. She then spent 17 years working at at a local hospital in Nampa as a switchboard operator.
In her free time, Sharon enjoyed board and card games, and dominoes. She loved camping, spending time with her family, and traveling with her husband. Her warm smile, unending kindness, and unconditional love lives on through her family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and younger sister Linda Torkelson. Her son, Robert H., passed a few hours before her the same day to journey with her to Heaven.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years; Robert MacDonald, their son; William MacDonald, his wife; Deborah MacDonald, and her daughter-in-law; Joline MacDonald. She has three grandchildren from William; William H. MacDonald, Scott G. MacDonald, and Linda S. MacDonald. She also has four grandchildren from William H. and his wife, Holly MacDonald.
A viewing will be held at the Nampa Funeral Home, 415 12th Ave. South, Nampa, from 11:00 AM to Noon on July 13, 2015. A graveside service will follow that day at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 South Indiana Avenue, Caldwell, at 1:00 PM. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
