IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shaun Dennis
Read
November 15, 1988 – June 24, 2012
Shaun Dennis Read came blazing into this world November 15, 1988 in Boise, Idaho. God called our son home on June 24, 2012. His parents Dennis and Michelle were overjoyed to have a son. As soon as Shaun could hold a fishing pole he was fishing alongside his parents or tagging along on some adventure in the mountains. One of his favorite things to do would be exploring in our beloved Owyhee Mountains. He loved our annual elk hunt in October as it was a fun time to be with family and pursue our passion. Shaun loved history and would always tell his parents "I wish I had lived in the old west", he also loved trucks; from the time he could talk in full sentences he would be telling his mom "that is a ford" or "that is a Chevy" and what year of the truck by the grill or head light shape. He would pester his mom when he was just a little guy, "Hey Mom, stop at this house! They have an old Chevy truck back there lets see if he will sell it" and I would say no Shaun, I am not stopping at some random guys house to buy his truck. Every remote control truck he had was modified. Some people have pets, Shaun had trucks. He always had a project going that is something he loved.
He attended elementary school at Park Ridge and Greenhurst elementary in Nampa until spring of 2000 when the family moved to Melba Idaho. Shaun graduated from Melba High School in May 2007. He worked for US Forest Service as a wild land fire fighter for 3 seasons. He made many friends whom were very significant in his life and he loved dearly. He hated being away from home and at the time of his death was farming in the Melba area.
Shaun is survived by his parents Dennis and Michelle Read of Melba, Id. His sisters Amber Wood (Tim) of Boise, Andrea Read of Boise, and Cynthia Read of Melba; Grandfather Dennis L. Read (Barbara) of Bliss, Idaho; Grandfather Francis Cleverley of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 18 Aunts and Uncles and 24 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Kathryn Ballard, Grandmother Carol Cleverley, Grandfather Lyndon Anderson and Cousin Justin Eli Ponjevic.
Shaun loved his family, loved his friends and he loved being alive, everything he did was in pursuit of an adventure; Shaun never had a dull moment. He loved hunting and being in the mountains. He had a big dynamic personality that drew people to him and a smile and warmth that lit up the room. We will always remember the boy with the perpetual smile, the boy with a skip in his step, the boy who grew into a strong, handsome, caring man with more luscious hair than most ladies. Such greatness was hard to confine to his 64" frame. Shaun will be greatly missed. He is loved by many.
Services are being held at Melba High School on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Viewing is from 9am to 10 am followed by services at 11 am. He will be laid to rest in the Melba Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
