Obituary

Suzanne Larsen Obituary Suzanne Larsen (Goodwin) Heaven got a little brighter when Suzanne Goodwin Larsen came dancing through the pearly gates. Suzanne passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 surrounded by her family. Suzanne LaRue Goodwin was born on June 12, 1967 to Buckley and Patricia Goodwin in Caldwell, ID and joined the family with her sisters Kim and Gayla. Suzanne attended grade school at St. Pauls School in Nampa. She started challenging the rules at a young age when she made her way onto an all boys Little League team as the only girl. Suzanne loved outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and riding horses. Suzanne attended Vallivue Jr. and Sr. High School where she was Co-Captain of the Drill Team and a Varsity Cheerleader. After graduating in 1985, she worked as a waitress and later in the mortgage business. Her life changed forever when her daughter Skylar was born on May 3, 2003. Suzanne found a new purpose and meaning to her life as a mom. She decided to pursue a nursing career and graduated from NNU with a Bachelor of Science degree and became a Registered Nurse in 2006. Suzanne met the love of her life, Vince Larsen in 2009. They were married September 10, 2011 and have shared a life filled with love, laughter, and many adventures. Suzanne worked at Mercy/St. Alphonsus Hospital in the emergency room, cath lab, and interventional radiology. Most recently she worked at Intermountain Hospital as a Charge Nurse. We have heard from so many of her co-workers about how much they enjoyed working with Suzanne. She made work fun and the patients who Suzanne cared for always commented on what a great nurse she was. She felt a calling to help people, especially those dealing with addiction and recovery. Suzanne will always be remembered for her sense of humor and contagious laugh. Words people have shared to describe her are sweet, sassy, spunky, fierce, fun-loving, and selfless. She was all of these and so much more! Suzanne will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Suzanne leaves behind her husband, Vince Larsen and daughter Skylar Mendenhall. She is survived by her parents Pat Goodwin and Buck and Donna Goodwin, sisters Kim Goodwin (Darrin Rudd), Gayla Goodwin (Orlando Gomez), nephew Jett Gomez, niece Amanda Korporaal (Brett Korporaal) great nephew Lou Korporaal, and great niece Nadia Korporaal. Suzanne loved animals, especially her dogs Dakota, Puppy, Snoop, Jackson, and Tucker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the West Valley Humane Society.
